Campanile Pinot Grigio Friuli Grave Campanile 2007 750ml  

85% of the grapes sourced for Campanile Pinot Grigio are sourced from the Friuli region, while the remaining 15% is sourced from Trentino. This Campanile wine is a blend primarily of Pinot Grigio grapes, but small amounts of Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco were added to balance the structure and add creamy apple-vanilla flavors. Vinification in stainless steel tanks took place for 10 days at controlled temperatures. This cool fermentation was done in order to retain the varietal character of the Pinot Grigio grapes. The wine was matured for four months in stainless steel to retain freshness, balance, and good acidity in the finished wine.

Tait Shiraz Basket Pressed 2005 750ML

Tait has been establishing a track record for hedonistically rendered wines at consumer friendly prices for several years. The 2005 Basket Pressed Shiraz comes from a 60-year-old vineyard with yields of 1 – 2 tons per acre. The wine was aged in 20% new French oak and the balance one- to two-year-old American oak. Opaque purple in color, it delivers an array of scents including pain grille, pepper, sausage, blueberry, licorice, and chocolate. Thick and rich, this opulent Shiraz has a velvety texture, complex flavors, and a very long, sweet finish. It will benefit from 3-4 years of cellaring and will provide pleasure through 2025.

Opaque purple. Raspberry, blackberry, rose oil, minerals and Asian spices on the high-pitched nose. Sweet, creamy and surprisingly energetic, with vibrant red fruit, floral pastille and mineral flavors and no rough edges. The floral notes come on strong on the finish, which is exceptionally pure, vibrant and long. Many high-end New World cult pinot noirs offer less energy and clarity than this shiraz.

The single-vineyard 2006 Chianti Rufina Vigneto Bucerchiale exhibits an attractive combination of ripe, generous fruit wedded to a firm sense of structure that should allow the wine to age gracefully for years. Sweet scents of tobacco, earthiness, leather, licorice and spices add complexity on the powerful close. At the moment, the 2006 Vigneto Bucerchiale remains unyielding but full of promise. The wine continued to improve with air.

Frescobaldi is one of the most famous names in Tuscany and can trace its history back to 1092. Today at the cutting edge of the quality revolution in its region, with joint ventures with the likes of the US legend Mondavi, Frescobaldi is one of the most consistant producers in the area. Nipozzano is produced in the Rufina sub district of Chianti, to the east of Florence amongst classic rolling Tuscan hills. 

The Riserva mention means that it has been aged for at least 12 months in wood before being released. It is the perfect example of the classicism that is Frescobaldi.
